Best marketing platform to launch and grow your online business in India: Systeme.io vs GetResponse, tested

For dropshippers, coaches, and course creators selling online in India. We tested both — funnels, emails, course hosting, automation — using real business workflows. Here's the honest verdict for 2026.

✓ Tested hands-on, not from spec sheets ✓ Affiliate-supported, verdicts unaffected
01 Save ₹13,000+/month on software

One tool replaces a funnel builder, an email platform, and a course tool — say, ClickFunnels + Mailchimp + Teachable — the typical stack a solo Indian creator duct-tapes together.

02 Start free, prove the model first

A genuinely free plan (no card, no time limit) lets you build your funnel and test offers before spending a rupee.

03 Built for solopreneurs, not enterprises

Designed for one-person businesses, course creators, and coaches — not for Fortune-500 sales teams. Set up in an afternoon, not a quarter.

04 Automate the busywork while you sleep

Set up email sequences, funnel follow-ups, and course delivery once, and Systeme.io runs it automatically. No more manually chasing leads or sending the same welcome email fifty times.

The 30-Second Verdict

Which platform is right for your business in India?

If you're a solopreneur, coach, dropshipper, or course creator starting out in India, Systeme.io is the clear pick — a genuinely free-forever plan with unlimited emails, and paid plans starting cheaper than GetResponse's. If email automation is central to your business and you're willing to pay for their $69/month Creator tier for native webinars, GetResponse offers more sophisticated workflows worth the tradeoff.

Choose Systeme.io if:

  • You want a genuinely free plan — no card, no time limit
  • You need funnels, courses, and email in one login
  • You want to run your own affiliate program

Choose GetResponse if:

  • Email automation is the center of your business
  • You're willing to pay for their $69/mo tier for native webinars
  • You already sell on Shopify or WooCommerce

Common questions

Is the Systeme.io free plan really free, or just a trial in disguise?
It's genuinely free, forever — no credit card required at signup, no automatic conversion to a paid plan, no time limit. The free tier includes 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 online course, 1 membership site, and unlimited emails. You only pay if you want to lift the contact, funnel, or course limits, or unlock features like evergreen webinars. Many Indian creators run their entire side business on the free plan for months before upgrading.
Can I receive payments from my Indian customers in INR?
Better with Systeme.io. It natively supports Razorpay — the payment gateway built for India, covering UPI, cards, and netbanking — alongside Stripe and PayPal, which both have INR quirks (PayPal INR only works for domestic India-to-India transfers; Stripe doesn't support Amex for INR charges). GetResponse's funnel tool does have its own native checkout, but its payment gateway choices are Square, Stripe, PayPal, BlueSnap, and PayU — Razorpay isn't one of them. You can still take Razorpay payments with GetResponse by connecting a Shopify or WooCommerce store that already has it set up, but there's no direct, built-in option the way there is with Systeme.io.
How does this compare to Indian alternatives like Convertful, LeadSquared, or Cake?
The Indian-built alternatives serve specific niches — LeadSquared is CRM-led (sales teams, not creators), Convertful focuses on lead capture popups, and Cake is a performance-marketing tracking platform for affiliate networks and advertisers, not a general marketing automation tool. Systeme.io and GetResponse are a different category: end-to-end creator-economy platforms covering funnels, courses, memberships, and email together. If you're selling online courses, coaching, info-products, or dropshipping, the all-in-one international tools fit better. If you're running a sales team or B2B pipeline, look at the Indian options.
Can I cancel anytime? Are there long contracts?
Both work month-to-month with no long-term contract — cancel anytime from your account dashboard. Annual billing is discounted on both (Systeme.io offers 2 months free, roughly a 17% saving; GetResponse is about 18% off). Systeme.io's terms and conditions state that subscription plans are non-refundable, and GetResponse's pricing page doesn't state a specific money-back guarantee window either, so confirm the current refund policy directly with the provider before committing to an annual plan.
Do I need to pay GST on these subscriptions?
Likely yes, if your business is GST-registered — both platforms are foreign sellers, so subscribing counts as an "import of service" under India's OIDAR rules. If you provide your GSTIN at signup, the vendor shouldn't charge Indian GST on the invoice; instead you self-assess 18% IGST under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) and report it in GSTR-3B. If the subscription is for business use, you can typically claim that same 18% back as Input Tax Credit in the same return, provided you issue yourself a self-invoice. If you don't provide a GSTIN, the vendor may charge 18% IGST directly, which isn't recoverable as ITC. This applies the same way to Systeme.io and GetResponse — talk to your accountant about RCM and self-invoicing if you're new to it, since we're a software review site, not a tax advisor.
